Utterly terrible. Avatar View Profile View Posts. Originally posted by alr :. My download speeds on steam or most sites are around 1. That is when I posted this. Its due to the sales of programs they host mods of. Happens every time. How do the sales of the games they host mods for affect download speeds?
I know they are capped at 1mbs if you aren't premium but that isn't an issue for me. Issue is 5kbs, which is what I remember from dialup ' Sure, I'll pull an indepth explaination out of my arse, wash it off and hand it to you.
Just like all steam forums then. Full of aggressive people being pricks. I wasn't being a smartarse. Thanks dude. Then use some of your experiance to fill in the gaps. Traditionally IP's supply bandwith and not overall data transfer values. If bandwith is at capacity then the IP throttles total volume. The site then reduces the capacity of total data transfers or reduces the available amount of transfers occuring.
Asking for excessive experiance based information within a gaming forum is like requesting an explaination of aspartame production at the chewing gum factory in a HPLC discussion group. Sure they are related. Last edited by Improper Use ; 15 Sep, am. Noppius View Profile View Posts. Nexus has this trouble almost every time there is a sale for Skyrim. A bunch of new people buy the game or they get the DLC that they are missing and run to Nexus for the Unofficial patches, ENB settings and a ton of other mods.
The influx of people is just to big for the Nexus servers to handle. You will need to tie your accounts together, choose some of the mods you found, and install them.
Enter the email address you used when you created your Bethesda. You need to select Create Account even though you already have an account. As long as you enter the same email you used to set up your Bethesda.
Enter your Bethesda. Some mods do not work well with other mods. If your game does not operate normally, try adjusting the load order by selecting Load Order from the main mods screen. If that doesn't work, you may need to disable one or more mods by clicking on the mod and then clicking on Disable. Depending on your platform, there may be limits on how many mods you can download and install. The number of mods you can install will also be lower if you don't have enough free space on your console.
The space limitations are placed by Microsoft and Sony, while the limit on the number of mods you can install can be placed by either the console manufacturer or Bethesda.
The limitation on the number of mods can change from time to time if Bethesda decides that Skyrim is capable of handling more, or less, mods while still remaining stable.
The easiest way to find and install mods for the original version of Skyrim on PC is a program called Nexus Mod Manager, which has an associated website. This program is also compatible with Skyrim: Special Edition and many other games. Modders upload their work to the website, where users are able to search for interesting mods, download them, and then install them using the Nexus Mod Manager program.
Account creation is free, although there are limits placed on free accounts. For instance, download speed is capped if you don't pay for a premium account. All of the Skyrim mods on the Nexus Mods site are free, and you are not required to pay any money or provide any billing information during the registration process.
You do not need to pay to create an account. If you do not wish to pay, do not select any of the payment options during the registration process. Nexus Mod Manager searches for over a dozen different games. Once it has located Skyrim, you can click Stop Searching if you don't have the other games.
Select the location where you would like to store the mods that you download, and click Finish. After you install Nexus Mod Manager, you need to dig in and find some mods for it to manage. This is done through the same Nexus Mod site where you made an account and downloaded the manager software. The next step is to locate and download Skyrim mods from the Nexus Mods site, and use Nexus Mod Manager to install them:.
You may need to authorize Nexus Mod Manager to make changes to your system. If it fails, try running Nexus Mod Manager as an administrator. In the Nexus Mod Manager client, select a mod that you have downloaded, and click the green check mark on the left to install. You can download and install as many mods as you want with Nexus Mod Manager.
In fact, it's literally possible to run hundreds of Skyrim mods at the same time.
